What issues do you treat?

What is special about Cottonwood Family Therapy?

In therapy, we use a client-centered approach and work together to come up with solutions. Therapy is a safe, nonjudgmental space where we work together to provide you with the tools and skills you need to overcome challenges. We will use a variety of modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and more. Dr. Robinson tailors therapy to your needs and situation. Don’t expect a one-size-fits-all approach.

Do you take insurance?

Yes, Dr. Robinson accepts Aetna, BCBS/Regence, Lyra Health and Select Health plans. She can also provide documentation that you can submit to your insurance company for out of network coverage.

You can also pay with your Health Savings Account (HSA) fund.

Tell me a bit about Dr. Robinson.

Dr. Robinson is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist specializing in the treatment of anxiety and mood disorders. She received her doctoral degree from the University of Utah.

During the first half of her career, Dr. Robinson worked with families and youth in hospitals, school, and intensive outpatient programs. For the past 15+ years she has worked in private practice, serving adults in Utah.

What types of therapy do you practice?

Some of the therapeutic approaches include Acceptance and Commitment (ACT), Applied Behavioral Analysis, Attachment-based, Cognitive Behavioral (CBT), Cognitive Processing (CPT), Culturally Sensitive, Dialectical (DBT), Emotionally Focused, Family Systems, Integrative, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Interpersonal, Mindfulness-Based (MBCT), Motivational Interviewing, Person-Centered, Positive Psychology, Psychobiological Approach Couple Therapy, Solution Focused Brief (SFBT), and Strength-Based.

Will I be stuck in therapy forever?

Therapy is not meant to last forever. The length of treatment depends on your needs and goals. The goal of therapy is to promote independence and help you learn skills and techniques so you can experience tangible improvements. Click here to learn more about what to expect in therapy.

Do you provide online therapy?

Yes, all sessions are provided online using a convenient and secure platform (Simple Practice). Online access is available from your laptop or with a phone app.
